Dr. Michael Salvino was born and raised in Chicago. After attending Purdue University for his undergraduate education, he returned to his hometown, enhancing his education at Chicago Medical School, Northwestern University, and Loyola University Medical Center. Today, this double-board-certified Plastic Surgeon prides himself on treating his patients the way he would want to be treated. “I focus on listening to my patients’ goals,” he explains. “Then I formulate a surgical plan and explain things in an understandable way. I take as much time as a patient may need to answer their questions. I feel this helps ease patients’ anxiety and helps build a solid doctor-patient relationship.”
Dr. Salvino’s Hinsdale-based practice has grown over the past 14 years and today often helps patients gain confidence after the many changes that come with pregnancy. “Over the years my practice has become more focused on helping women rejuvenate themselves back to their pre-pregnancy selves,” he says. “There are various operations that can help from a breast lift and/or breast augmentation to a minitummy tuck or full abdominoplasty. Each patient has differing needs and so each case is individualized to fulfill their goals.”
The field of plastic surgery is considered a balance of art and science and Dr. Salvino is confident that his extensive and rigorous training provides an enormous asset for his patients. “I am inspired by the human body for its incredible beauty and marvel at the intricacies of its design. As a plastic surgeon, I not only have a mastery of the basic science of anatomy, physiology, and potential pathology, but also possess the ability to visualize the desired changes and then create that change through precise surgical techniques,” he says.
