MATT LARICY and J MAGGIO are a real estate dream team. Laricy is a third-generation realtor with nearly 20 years of experience and a true passion for helping people find their forever homes. Maggio, a former futures trader at Chicago’s Mercantile Exchange and Board of Trade, has similarly been making a name for himself as a Hinsdale broker and resident over the last 10 years. As a native to the Western Suburbs, Maggio brings more than 16 years of experience and $20 million in average annual sales. Together, their collective awards and track record for helping clients know everything they need to know about the buying and selling process sets them apart from the rest.
WHAT VALUES OR PRINCIPLES GUIDE YOUR SUCCESS?
Matt Laricy: Hard work, discipline, and routine.
HOW DO YOU STRIVE TO MAKE A LASTING IMPACT ON YOUR INDUSTRY OR COMMUNITY?
J Maggio: I’ve been involved in coaching Hinsdale Little League, Devils Travel Baseball, and Falcons football for five-plus years now. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t run into someone that I’ve met through these activities or hear, “Hey Coach Maggio.” It’s the reason we moved out here. For our kids.
WHO HAS BEEN THE MOST INFLUENTIAL MENTOR OR ROLE MODEL IN YOUR LIFE?
Laricy: My father, Bob Laricy, the founder of Americorp Real Estate. He’s the reason I decided to get into this business. My dad’s company looks a lot different than mine, though. Americorp Real Estate began in 1978 on the south side of Chicago. The office is still there, and it’s essentially a time capsule. Same furniture; same carpet. The gum balls in the gum ball machine have to be decades old at this point. Some of my earliest memories are of the days when I would go into the office with my dad as a kid. He worked a lot, and that’s probably where I get it from. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS?
Laricy: Knowledge is power. Sure, being good at sales and networking is good, but understanding the market is key. Whether it’s a good market or a bad market, consumers will always seek advice from experts.
