CONNIE ANTONIOU was born to Greek-American parents with deep roots in the motion picture business. As a result, she was exposed to unique work and life experiences, including dining with such Hollywood icons as Sylvester Stallone and Donald O’Connor. Antoniou took her first job at age 11, popping popcorn for 50 cents an hour in her family’s movie theaters, a role that fostered a hard work ethic and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Today, this global real estate advisor and former broker-owner of two Sotheby’s International Realty offices has established herself as a trusted authority in luxury real estate—serving buyers and sellers throughout the suburban Chicago area and southeast Wisconsin. She got her start in the highly competitive Hinsdale market before achieving impressive milestones as the senior vice president of sales in Barrington with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty. Her proven understanding of what high-profile buyers are looking for in luxury properties has allowed her to foster meaningful, long-term relationships with an elite clientele. She has represented Chicago Blackhawks players and coaches, and renowned entrepreneurs and executives, among many others throughout her impressive career.
How do you give back to your industry or community? Giving back is essential. I truly enjoy mentoring other women and helping them build fulfilling, successful careers. Beyond that, I’m actively involved in my community—both philanthropically and through hands-on engagement—because strengthening the community strengthens us all.
What conversations are you passionate about bringing to the table? I believe we’re not just selling houses—we’re helping people find homes that align with their lifestyles. The attributes of the house, its location, the neighborhood, and how it fits a buyer’s daily life and the commute all matter. Guiding clients to that perfect match is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable parts of this industry.
What is one leadership lesson you’ve learned? Real estate is a tough business, and not everyone thrives in it. Success requires resilience, discipline, and a strong work ethic. I value mentoring those with true potential, but I’ve also learned an important leadership lesson: if it becomes clear that someone isn’t suited for this industry, it’s best for both the team and the individual to acknowledge it and move forward. That honesty ultimately benefits everyone involved.
