Leap Of Faith

LISA WOLFE-DIGANCI was on a career-trajectory in the corporate world, with a degree from Indiana University’s School of Business and a promising job in an advertising agency. But in her heart she knew she’d rather be looking at purple paint chips than strategy briefs. So she resigned. “Leaving a good job, but one that you hate, puts you in a unique position to be fearless to fail.” she says. Surviving on savings, waitress tips, and cat-sitting gigs, she went back to school and graduated from Harrington School of Interior Design. Ultimately, Lisa Wolfe Design was born, and nearly 20 years later, her company’s portfolio reflects projects ranging from single room makeovers to entire homes. “Most of my clients are beginning a new chapter—new marriage, single again, first home, first vacation home, kids moved away. I want to give them everything they’ve ever dreamed of—a space that takes their breath away and solves their design problem.” As a business owner, she says, “There’s Fun-Lisa and Business-Lisa and both have to co-exist. In front, it’s all about the client finding their own little design niche and creating an exciting experience. Behind the scenes, I’m working hard to stay two steps ahead to make sure there are no surprises.” She credits her architect husband for teaching her to, “Take good care of your clients, and they’ll take good care of you,” she says. “He taught me well! My roster is filled with referrals and repeat clients.”
