Since 1996, attorney Karen V. Paige has exclusively practiced family law in all its forms. Crafting creative and practical solutions for clients and their children, in and out of the courtroom, is a hallmark of her approach. “I work pragmatically and compassionately with each client to help them move forward confidently into the next chapter of their lives, and next iteration of their family,” says Paige, herself an experienced mediator with a practice that includes litigation and attorney-assisted mediation. She has also been a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in Lake County for more than14 years, as well as a court-appointed Parenting Coordinator. “This breadth of experience in all aspects of family law allows me to assess my client’s case from many angles,” explains Paige, whose law career began in Los Angeles, where she represented high-net-worth clients in a variety of fields. Volunteering for the Maynard Toll Center at the Los Angeles Superior Court charted a new path to practicing family law. “Representing the best interests of children provides significant challenges but ultimately means making a difference in the lives of children and families,” says Paige, a divorced parent herself who brings empathy and compassion to her cases, always striving to bring about the best solution for the families involved. “Working directly with individuals to make a positive difference and making a difference in the lives of families has been a theme throughout my career.” On a personal note, she is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of Youth Services of Glenview/ Northbrook, and as a proud graduate of the University of Michigan, was thrilled to attend the Rose Bowl earlier this year with her son to cheer the Wolverines on their path to the National Championship.
