HYDE PARK ART CENTER GALA 

Hyde Park Art Center hosted its 86th annual Gala honoring arts leader Esther Grimm and artist Amanda Williams. Co-chaired by Mirja Spooner Haffner and Christy MacLear, the dynamic evening featured hands-on art activities, performances, open studios, auctions, and DJs from Lumpen Radio—raising $515,000 in support of Chicago artists and programs. During the event, co-Executive Directors Jeannette Tremblay Chambers and Aaron Rodgers announced a new residency partnership with 3Arts. The six-month Beyond Bodies of Work residency, launching this year, will support artists with disabilities, with Chicago-based painter and fiber artist Pooja Pittie named as the inaugural resident. hydeparkart.org
