“Go To” Agent

As a young mother back in the ’90, Daria Andrews would walk up and down the idyllic streets of Lake Bluff, pushing her baby son in a stroller, and gazing into open houses that she would see along the way.
“I’ve always been enamored with homes and architecture,” says Andrews, who grew up on the East Coast and worked in the financial market until taking some time off to have children. “But it was during those walks with the kids that I started to wonder if this was the time for me to go into real estate. Could I do this?”
Oh yes. Yes, she could.
Joining @properties in January of this year after a 19-year real estate career, Andrews says she has never been happier, both professionally and personally.
“It has been a fabulous career,” says Andrews, who moved to Lake Bluff in 1990. “The best part is undoubtedly being able to help people achieve their goals whether buying or selling.”
In fact, Andrews has long been a “go to” agent in the Lake Bluff and Lake Forest market. But make no mistake; it isn’t all unicorns and rainbows.
“People always seem to think that real estate is a very glamourous profession,” she says. “But the fact is that’s its very hard work. I’ve definitely lived through the ups and downs of the industry, and I feel like that ultimately helps me better provide for my clients no matter what the situation might be.”
An increasingly common situation is buyers and sellers currently looking to take their life in a different direction when it comes to their real estate.
“Selling is so very emotional, especially for so many people who find themselves in the middle of downsizing at the moment,” she says.
And while much knowledge can be gathered online, Andrews believes having an agent in your corner in what can often be a complicated process is crucial.
“You really need an agent to talk about the idiosyncrasies of a market,” she says. “You need to know the community. It can all be very overwhelming to buyers, but if you narrow the information down a bit, it can be much easier.”
Now working under the @properties umbrella, Andrews says she finds herself in the best possible position in her career—surrounding with the most comprehensive, professional marketing and technology available today.
“@ Properties offers so much when it comes to tools that I can then share with my clients,” she says. “The market is ever-changing and so is the dynamic training. I feel extremely prepared to handle any situation.”
And she couldn’t imagine a better place to work than right here.
“I still believe the Lake Bluff-Lake Forest area is one of the most beautiful places around,” she says. “There is just a natural beauty here that you can’t find anywhere else. People are so engaged in the community. I absolutely love it here.”
