GENEVA LAKE GEMS

A short, easy drive. A long, deep breath. A graceful turn onto Highway 67 that beckons you to the beauty and ease that awaits—breathtaking vistas of Geneva Lake, the iconic Abbey Resort, a glistening harbor, the hush of the winding shore path—coveted, relaxed lake living that welcomes you back each time with open arms. For the first time, both permanent and seasonal residents who love Lake Geneva and the idyllic downtown Fontana will have a “new home to call home.”

—The Residences of Geneva Lake

I recently sat down with key members of The Residences of Geneva Lake (RGL) development team to capture the essence of this highly unique residential project, and what it took to imagine and design 17 beautifully appointed, fully upgraded three- and four-bedroom townhomes, with two additional commercial/residential mixed-use spaces, all finding their ideal “home” on this prime stretch of Fontana Boulevard.

For years, Cary Kerger, managing owner of the Abbey Resort, had felt there was an opportunity to re-develop an under-utilized asphalt parking lot directly across from the Abbey Resort into a landmark luxury project. “I knew the perfect person to partner with and deliver on this vision was my longtime friend and colleague, Scott Lowell,” says Kerger. Lowell is a 40-year principal of one of the Midwest’s most respected, award-winning home builders, Lowell Custom Homes.

“Along with our parent company, CCI, we’ve been able to bring to life a blend of passion and talents for this extremely special parcel of land in downtown Fontana,” Lowell agrees. “In years to come, RGL will not be defined by what we’ll produce in high-quality, turnkey homes. RGL will be defined by the legacy we leave this endearing lakefront community, for those who have loved Fontana and will continue to love it for generations to come.”

Bringing in other key experts in designing the exteriors and interiors of the three RGL layouts, the A, B and C units, as well as the commercial spaces, were integral to providing lifestyle needs that matched aesthetic and functionality. With the talent and hands-on design assistance provided by local interior designer, Cindy Wilson of CB Wilson Interior Design, that goal quickly became reality. “Being part of The Residences of Geneva Lake team is truly a highlight of my career, one which embraces my love for the Fontana community as well as my firsthand knowledge and trust that any home built by Scott Lowell is very, very well built,” Wilson says.

RGL homes range in size from 2,121 to 2,900 square feet plus generous two-car garages, and come extensively upgraded, with coveted amenities such as heated flooring, Wolf and Sub-Zero stainless appliances, and luxury trim and millwork, all standard. Optional elevators bring homeowners to their own top floor views with ease, while longtime favorite restaurants, bars, parks, recreation and, of course, the lakefront, are mere steps away.

Grand Opening festivities continue through spring 2024, and homes starting at $1,379,000 will be ready for delivery in early 2025.
