Frank Morrissey, founding partner of Morrissey Legal Group LLC in Chicago and Oak Brook, has been told by judges, juries, and lawyers that he conducts himself as if every case was the most important in his life. “It is very rewarding to help families and individuals find a way to get answers when and if their loved ones have suffered a medical or personal injury—then being able to get them fair and just compensation for their loss,” says Morrissey, whose firm specializing in malpractice, birth injury, and personal injury has helped secure more than $200 million in settlements for individuals and families. He is known for his ability to empathize with the families he works with, which in part could be attributed to his Jesuit education. “I was educated by the Jesuits throughout my entire academic career,” says Morrissey, who attended the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and Loyola University Chicago School of Law. “Jesuits educate students to be ‘persons for others.’ This motto means we have work to do to help each other heal and build up the world. I believe I am playing my small part in doing this by being a lawyer.” Today, he is licensed in Illinois and admitted to practice before all the U.S. District Courts in Illinois as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. In addition to serving as past president of the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers and the Celtic Lawyers Society, he gives back to the community by volunteering at a “Saturday Meals Program” at a local church. “We plan the meals, cook, and serve others in our community,” adds Morrissey. “It is a good way to spend quality time with family and neighbors while helping others in the community.”
