Fedor Kozlov is the founding partner of The Law Office of Fedor Kozlov, P.C., where he focuses on divorce, family law litigation, parenting disputes, property division, post-decree matters, and complex domestic relations cases throughout Illinois.
His practice also includes emerging areas involving assisted reproductive technology, including disputes over frozen embryos, IVF agreements, and reproductive decision-making.
He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law and is licensed in Illinois and federal courts, including the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Michigan. Before founding his firm, he practiced at Chicago-area law firms, worked with the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, and advocated for survivors of domestic violence through Eve, Inc.
Kozlov has served as lead counsel in notable Illinois appellate litigation involving IVF and frozen embryo disputes, reflecting the evolving nature of modern family law. He notes that family law requires both negotiation and litigation readiness. “While many disputes can be resolved through negotiation or settlement discussions, I also regularly represent clients in contested hearings and courtroom litigation,” he says.
He also emphasizes the complexity of modern cases involving jurisdiction and parental disputes. “My practice has involved interstate and international issues, including relocation disputes, parental abduction allegations, and other complex procedural matters,” he explains.
Kozlov is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and International Bar Association.
