Dr. Farah Khan and Dr. Suemin Jasmine Yoon are distinguished neurologists at Northwestern Medicine Neurology in Lake Forest, dedicated to addressing conditions that impact nearly every aspect of the human body and countless lives worldwide.
Dr. Khan is thrilled with the expansive growth in treatment options for headaches, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. “This is wonderful news for patients who have been dealing with chronic neurological diseases and provides opportunities for improved patient care,” she says. “Neurology is an ever-expansive field involving the entire human body and most people are affected by a neurological disease whether it be headache, dementia, epilepsy, stroke, and so on.”
Dr. Yoon draws inspiration from her mother’s battle with a brain tumor. “I saw from the patient and family’s perspective how life-changing it can be to have competent, compassionate, and thoughtful doctors on your team,” she says. Her mentorship with Dr. Thomas Kelly during her residency has shaped how she thinks as a clinician and neurologist. These influences have impacted her approach to care, where she views each patient as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Together, they represent a new era of neurology, defined by compassion, innovation, and an unyielding commitment to their patients.
