Ensuring One’s Safe Haven

Home is where the heart is.
It’s a phrase that has been used for countless years, but takes on quite a different meaning these days. In recent months, our homes are also where we are doing everything from working to teaching to cooking.
In short, home is more important than ever.
And that’s where Cedar Roofing Company comes in.
“One of the things we are trying to do these days is help our customers make sure that their home is a safe haven for them,” explains Jennifer Makely of Lake Forest-based Cedar Roofing Company. “We want to make sure that each of our customer’s homes are warm and dry, and most of all, it protects them in every way possible. We are trying our best to be an ally in that way for our customers.”
Granted, the family-owned company has been an ally for their customers for more than 38 years. And while the times have changed and the materials they use have evolved, it hasn’t changed the company’s dedication to their loyal fan base both on the North Shore and beyond, including right here in the Hinsdale area.
“We have been around for 38 years and through the years, our offerings have expanded to include asphalt, slate, tile, metal, flat, and commercial roofing, as well as custom metal work, gutters, siding, skylights, and more,” reflects Makely. “Not only have there been a ton of advances in upscale materials, such as synthetics, but we have also grown the business to go as far south as Hinsdale and Oak Brook, and as far north as the Lake Geneva area.”
And while the fall season traditionally means a bit of a slowdown from the frantic nature of their business during the warm months, Makely says many of their customers, this year in particular, are planning projects right through the winter to ensure that their home is protected and safe from the elements.
“Quite honestly, as long as the weather cooperates, we roof all year long,” explains Makely. “The winter months can actually be a great time to invest in a new roof if that’s something you need. You can really get a good deal and the schedule opens up a bit.”
Even if a completely new roof isn’t in the budget right now, Cedar Roofing Company still encourages its customers to be proactive when it comes to their roofs, especially when faced with yet another cold winter.
“Everyone knows that replacing a roof is very expensive, but having us out to do some simple repairs or some maintenance, which cedar does need, will save you a lot of money in the long run,” says Makely. “It may seem like a small thing now, but if you let it go, it can turn into thousands of dollars.”
And in such a time of relative uncertainty, it’s comforting to know that Cedar Roofing Company is a company even the most meticulous customer can trust.
“Our homes are so important to our lives, and it’s important for our customers to know that they can always come to us to keep it safe and warm and dry.”
