MALLORY VASQUEZ is a dynamic force in Barrington, balancing her roles as a wife, mother, publicist, coach, and youth-centered philanthropist. Working in corporate public relations, she leverages her expertise to drive community impact while nurturing a vibrant family life. An alumna of the University of Iowa, Vasquez volunteers with Make-A-Wish Illinois and participates in the Walk For Wishes. In 2023, she co-chaired Safety Town with the Barrington Junior Women’s Club.

How do you inspire others? I create an environment in which others are comfortable being themselves. Being honest, open, and imperfect allows others to be the same. I only know how to be authentically myself, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Definition of success? Success is having happy, healthy, successful kids. That’s the product of a strong relationship with one’s partner, faith, community, and oneself. Parenting can be the ultimate challenge, but such a blessing and privilege.

Greatest risk you’ve taken as a professional? Establishing boundaries is crucial for me. Early in my career, I worked long hours for demanding clients but realized I could be more valuable by focusing on my family and other passions. Although I am busy with plans, coaching my daughter’s cheer teams, and volunteering, these activities help me set clear boundaries and ensure I maintain a healthy worklife balance.

Powerful woman you admire the most? All the moms in my life but mostly my own. I love this quote by Neha Ruch who said, “Anyone who just managed a morning routine to get kids to school or elsewhere, your time management, organization, negotiation, prioritization, communication and empathy are expanding in real-time—don’t let anyone say motherhood is anything besides the ultimate leadership training ground.” Also, any mom who’s started a business, you’re the real MVP!
