One day, after working for other people for several years, DALIA GALINSKIENE realized she could make a difference for others and for herself. “I asked myself, ‘If not now, when?’” So she decided to take control of her own destiny and go out on her own, establishing not just one, but two businesses: DS Homes Hinsdale, and Salon and Spa Dalia. After building their first dream home in Burr Ridge and loving the experience, Galinskiene started her own custom home building company in 2008. “Being a female founder in the custom home building sector is a rare thing, yet I believe a beautiful one,” she says. “There is nothing easy or relaxing about it. It is hard work but every day there is progress and every day there are new challenges and different emotions. It is an amazing feeling when you see houses become homes, like watching your kids grow up.” With her love of wellness and skin care, Galinskiene’s secondary business is a luxury day spa featuring cosmetic, skin, and nail services in a European environment. “I am an entrepreneur at heart and love everything that I do.” But building homes is her real passion. “Designing, watching the process from scratch, and seeing the new homeowner happy and appreciative of everything what you do is what makes me happy.” From skincare to building homes, Galinskiene is all about bringing people joy and having a positive impact on their lives.
