“Whether it be colorful, fun, and adventurous; soft, calm, and romantic; or classic, bold, and sophisticated, my goal is to capture the essence of the homeowners that instills a mood,” says Marsha Jones, owner of Marsha Jones Interior Design, Ltd. in Wheaton. For over 30 years, Jones has taken each individual client’s style and personality to heart to customize interiors that reflect their lives. “It inspires me that everyone is different,” says Jones. “I enjoy how the fabrics, patterns, colors, and the individual design elements all blend together to create a whole new look.” Her love of designing began when Jones was 12 years old. After fort-building and room rearranging as a child, Jones was hooked on altering her personal space. “It was my first home in 1972 that got me really into the design world,” says Jones. “I brought in plants from the outdoors and everyone thought I was crazy, but I loved it.” Jones has been using that designing gift ever since. “I have an instinct to know what the client wants even when they may be unsure,” says Jones. “It brings me joy to know that I am creating an environment for clients to raise children, entertain friends, and enjoy everyday life with their families. A home should be a comfortable reflection of who they are.” She believes that color is back when looking at newer trends in home design and she couldn’t be more excited. “Mixing eclectic is still the rage, but it has taken a turn back in time with more traditional, vintage, and fun pieces added with the new classic transitional lines,” says Jones. “There are no rules anymore which makes it even more fun and exciting to mix it all together.” As a testament to her design ability, Jones has worked with clients across the nation.
