Dedicated To Design

Construction has always inspired Karl Todd, who has applied his artistic background to the industry for 50 years, in the process realizing it was creating stunning yet purpose-driven kitchens and baths—and working with customers from conceptual design to end product—that he had a particular affinity for.
For over a decade, he has brought his wealth of knowledge and years of experience to North Shore Kitchen & Bath Center, Inc. (NSKB), a staple in the community and go-to resource for specialized design on the North Shore for 42 years. Since taking the reins as president and owner, Todd has transformed NSKB into a design and build company specializing in stylish kitchens and bathrooms across the Shore.
Since 2017, NSKB has called 1900 Willow Road in Northfield home, a much larger facility more suited to his growing customer base. In just sixth months, Todd transformed the bare bones space into a brand new showroom that illustrates not only his team’s artistry but the functionality of their designs.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate their dedication to the community, this month will be the official grand opening of their stunning new showroom designed with lifestyle displays so that customers—homeowners and designers alike—can experience exactly what these new surroundings would look and feel like, be it cabinetry, lighting, fixtures, flooring, tile, or countertops. All are invited to the festivities from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, May 17.
There you’ll meet the close-knit NSKB team consisting of Todd, his wife, Barbara, and two professional designers, Diana Jones and Andrea Kazarian—a combined 80 years of industry experience altogether. Both Jones and Kazarian share: “We all support one another and love what we do—and that reflects in our work.”
From young families to empty nesters and everything in between, Todd and his team make the process a pleasant one: “The key to any process is to keep it simple. We are able to provide customers with architectural and engineering services and all necessary product selections at one location—and all customer contact remains with the designer from first concept until the completion of the project. Communication is key,” he explains.
At NSKB, no project is too big or too small, whether it is a whole house renovation or a small powder room or even replacing a hinge—from minor adjustments to major overhauls: “What makes NSKB different,” Todd says, “is that we are a small organization that has the capabilities of a large company but remains personal from start to finish.”
“They transformed our old kitchen into a great one with a superb design plan,” one client relates. “The cost was according to their estimate, and their subcontractors were highly skilled and professional. The end result was even better than expected. They are up front, honest, reliable, and trustworthy.”
“We get to know our clients through our process—they become like family,” Todd shares. “And the majority are repeats customers. We have some homeowners we’ve done three or four different projects for over the years. So much of our business is word of mouth and referrals from satisfied customers.”
One such customer shares: “I would not think of using a different company ever again. Beyond professional, courteous, and caring. Whatever project you are considering, visit this company first.”
“We’ve done everything from $35,000 kitchens to $250,000 renovations,” says Todd. “We create our concepts to fit the customer’s budget and lifestyle, tailor everything to their needs—no two clients are alike and no two projects are alike. We don’t just sell product, we sell design. We create kitchens and baths for the way that clients live their lives.”
