Dr. Daniel Davila, a leader in minimally invasive surgery, specializes in laparoscopic and robotic techniques at Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest. “Robotic surgery has been a game changer for minimally invasive approaches,” he says. “While not every intervention benefits from the technology, it has expanded our abilities to perform especially intricate surgeries much to the benefit of the patient.” Known for his patient-centered approach, he takes the time to explain diagnoses and create individualized care plans for each of his patients. “Every patient has a story and goals. Factor those in, and the impact will be immeasurable,” he says.

Dr. Michael Keller, a pulmonary and critical care physician at the Canning Thoracic Institute in Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, specializes in Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). Trained at Northwestern before joining Suburban Lung Associates, he helped establish a PH program in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. Now, he’s developing a regional PH program at Northwestern. “The field of pulmonary hypertension has grown immensely with new therapies and is poised for continued advancements with innovative research underway,” he says. “I am motivated by my patients and work to help them achieve their goals and manage their disease with a personalized approach to their care.”
