Over the past two decades, ELIZABETH SCOTT has been creating beautiful homes for her North Shore clients from her Lake Forest-based Elizabeth Scott Design Group. “We love designing custom homes from the blueprint stage through to the last accessory being placed,” she says. “Each of our homes reflects our clients’ style and taste and functions so well for their day-to-day living. We have won many industry awards throughout the course of our business, and have been honored to be featured in many magazines for our work.”

Most rewarding part of what you do? When we unveil a client’s custom home to them after building and furnishing it from the ground up and hear them say “it’s even more beautiful than I thought it was going to be,” it is the best reward we could ever get.

How should women support other women? Be there for them, listen to what they need and help them get there. Applaud their successes.

How do you inspire others? One of our pillars to our company is getting better every day. We are constantly seeking to be better in everything we do and hope this inspires everyone that is around us to do the same. Our competition is only with ourselves.

Definition of success? Achieving our goals in every facet of our lives, not only business. As women we wear so many hats, and each is important to the overall success of you as a person. Our family is always number one, great health, good friends, enjoying life, and having peace. Peace is a big one.

Greatest risk you’ve taken as a professional? Oh, there have been so many. As an entrepreneur, however, betting on myself has always paid off, and then some!
