Mantra? Everything you have dreamed of is one step outside your comfort zone. Best grooming tip? The best thing to you can do for yourself is to drink a lot of water. Guilty pleasure? Riding motorcycles. Favorite foods? If I could eat oatmeal raisin cookies every day I would. Music you love? I love all music. Best advice ever given to you? With passion comes success. When you wake up, you? Snuggle with my pups. Before bed, you? Read. What’s on your bookshelf? Books, new accessories, and old vintage pieces that were my grandparents who traveled the world. You can’t live without? Seasons. I love the change of weather and how each season exposes new colors, beauty, and life. Love to escape to? I’m a mountain girl through and through. I used to live in a ski town in Colorado, so when I have a vacation––I head to the mountains. Advice you would give to your younger self? Go with your gut––it’s always correct. And the phrase I hated as a kid but now repeat myself––everything happens for a reason.
WHEN IN THE COUNTRY
Your style is? I love all styles, but my personal style is eclectic. I am like Phoebe in Friends. I love when each piece has a story. Can’t leave the house without? A list. Driving music? I prefer to have the radio off in the car … it’s my downtime. Place to eat? I love to go to Chef Soon’s Sushi in Lisle, Kama Indian Bistro in LaGrange, and Boston Fish Market in Des Plaines. Shop? I frequent the Home Depot a lot, as I am a very hands-on gal. Best thing about country? Having a backyard––summertime dinner parties, forest reserves, farmers markets, each town’s different festivals. Worst thing about country? The amount of train tracks. I somehow get stuck by freight trains all the time. The perfect day is? In the winter, a robust red wine and watching a great movie or reading a good book with my dogs snuggling by my side, is a perfect evening after a long creative day.
WHEN IN TOWN
Your style is? City style to me is classic elegance with a pop of vintage pieces. Can’t leave the house without? Flip flops! I love my heels in the city, but a girl needs to give her feet a break after a while. Shop? I enjoy shopping for décor and furniture. I have a chair obsession. I truly believe (as everyone should) a chair has so much personality. I love to shop for décor and vintage furnishings in the city on Grand Ave in West Town, as well as shopping Architectural Artifacts, The Lazy Dog, Salvage One, and Urban Remains. Best thing about town? The variety of culture, entertainment, and food. Worst thing about town? The traffic. The perfect day is? In the summer, a perfect day in the city for me is starting the day off at brunch with friends and mimosas before heading to a local fest and perusing through the amazing artist tents
