MEGAN RICHARDS MARTIN grew up in Akron, Ohio, which explains her appreciation for LeBron James. She earned a degree in communications with minors in fashion and journalism at Ohio University. Her love of fashion was enhanced with a summer studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After graduating, Megan headed off to London where a job in the public relations department of Estée Lauder ignited her love of all things PR. She owns a public relations firm called Page One Public Relations, a hospitality and lifestyle focused firm that has been awarded recognition for being one of the top PR firms in Chicago for the past six years. Page One represents a variety of clients including the Chicago Marathon, Windy City Smokeout, The Hampton Social, Roka Akor, Yorktown Center, and Mariano’s. Megan and her husband Michael live in the Fullersburg Woods are of Hinsdale. It’s the perfect spot for their daughters Emerson (10) and Leighton (8) to ride their bikes to Salt Creek Club for swimming and tennis. They are also close to walking trails, which cockapoo Poppy enjoys as much as her humans. The couple believes in giving back to the community. Michael is president of the D181 school board and Megan co-chairs the education committee of the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club and supports Wellness House, where she utilizes services to support her mom who is living with cancer. It’s a busy, bustling life filled with friends and family. Here are some of this dynamic entrepreneur’s favorites.

On your reading stack? I recently started a book club with some fellow Monroe School moms and it has really made me enjoy reading. We just finished The Idea of You, which I loved, and we are reading Verity now, which is so good. Favorite workout? I work out almost every weekday morning at Burn Bootcamp with some friends and love the workout. It changes daily and it motivates me to meet my friends there which helps drag me out of bed at 5:35am every morning. Guilty pleasure? Anything on BRAVO. Music you love? I love all types of music and go to a lot of concerts. This year I plan to see Zac Brown Band, The Lumineers, and Harry Styles. Advice you would give to your younger self? Don’t sweat the small stuff and everything has a way of working itself out.

WHEN IN THE COUNTRY

Your style is? It seems to always be workout clothes when working from home and dropping the kids off to school and running errands around town. At night it is usually jeans and heels or a casual dress from Vintage Charm or Meredith Jaye. Favorite walk? I love to walk Fullerburg Woods. Favorite sounds or soundtrack? Right now I am loving the new Harry Styles album. Can’t leave the house without? My Phone and usually my kids. Place to celebrate? We tend to go to Fuller House weekly! I also love Il Mio in Clarendon Hills. It’s such a great addition to the area. Best quick bite or hidden gem? I go to Toni Patisserie once a week for their brie and apple sandwich—it is so good! I am also a loyal Hinsdale Fruit Store customer—you can’t beat that salad bar. Favorite festival or special event? We love Uniquely Thursdays in the summer. I also enjoy shopping at the Hinsdale Farmers Market and of course, there is nothing better than Fourth of July parade and celebration. Best thing about the country? I love the community here—it really is such a special place to raise your family. Worst thing about the country? Honestly not much—I love everything about it. The perfect day is? Starting the day with a workout at Burn Boot Camp, going to brunch at Yia-Yia’s with my family, pool time at Salt Creek Club and dinner at Fuller House or Il Mio.

WHEN IN TOWN

Your style is? I am usually in the city for work meetings so nice denim and a shirt or a dress to easily get from meeting to meeting. Favorite walk? I love walking on the lake or the riverfront. I miss my morning routine of going to the Green City Market and then walking on the lake every Saturday when we lived in the city. Can’t leave the house without? My phone and Mac computer for work meetings and navigating around town. Place to celebrate? I love RPM Seafood. The food is delicious and the views are amazing. I also love having rosé and oysters sitting outside at River Roast. My husband and I always seem to pick Shaw’s Crab House or Joe’s Stone Crab when celebrating a birthday or anniversary. Favorite festival or special event? Windy City Smokeout—there is nothing better than great music and food with the city as the backdrop! Place to shop? I love shopping on Southport when I can get there or the boutiques on Rush and Oak Streets. Best thing about town? Chicago is just such an amazing town and I feel so lucky to live close to it. The architecture, the food, the events, the museums, the neighborhoods. Besides traffic and the winter weather, there is not much I don’t love about Chicago! The perfect day is? Starting the day with a Soul Cycle ride, lunch with friends at NoMi in the Park Hyatt, a pedicure at Cowshed at Soho House, some shopping and a late dinner at RL would be a pretty great day!
