A true Southern belle, Sarah Kutka grew up in Murray, Kentucky before finding her way to Barrington. After graduating from Murray State University, Kutka moved to Chicago and is now a working mother living with her husband and three children (Bella, Jack, and Hollis), along with the family’s Maltese, Sugar. Kutka’s children are very involved in dance, tumbling, baseball, football, and soccer—which keeps her on the move. An active member of the Barrington Junior Women’s Club, Kutka enjoys running outside to stay fit during the warmer months of the year.

Mantra? Live life in the moment because everything else is uncertain Best grooming tip? Always moisturize and take care of your skin. My grandmother had a skin care routine every morning and night and she always looked beautiful Guilty pleasure? Haagen-Dazs coffee ice cream Favorite foods? There are so many different foods that I love. Being from the South I enjoy a lot of Southern comfort food such as Southern style green beans or collard green dishes. Every time I go back to my home state of Kentucky or somewhere in the South, I am blown away by how fantastic the food is Music you love? I honestly have a variety of music I like; I grew up with music always being around me. My dad loved to play guitar and sing. My mom always had a radio, MTV, VH1, or CMT on when I was growing up. I love everything from classic rock, alternative, 80s and 90s country, gospel to classical piano. My husband thinks it’s funny how I will immediately know a song, artist, and year of release Best advice ever given to you? Always stay motivated and focus on the goals you set Best advice you’ve given? Make sure to be yourself and don’t always try to please others Earliest memory? My grandparents taking me fishing on Kentucky Lake when I was 3 years old. I remember my grandmother packing a lunch for us and riding in my grandfather’s little boat. They let me bait the hook and help me catch a baby fish. When you wake up, you? Look at my calendar to see what the agenda is for the day Before bed, you? Do my nightly skin care routine and maybe watch some mindless TV to wind down What’s on your bookshelf? Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd, Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon. I love reading autobiographies You can’t live without? My family of course, and mascara Love to escape to? Charleston, South Carolina. I fell in love with the atmosphere of this charming city Advice you would give to your younger self? Don’t worry so much about the future. God will lead you to exactly to where you need to be

WHEN IN THE COUNTRY

Your style is? I love wearing bright colors and pretty prints. I have never been afraid of wearing something bold. If I am running my kids to their activities, I am usually wearing something comfortable, normally workout clothes. If I am having a night out with my husband or friends, it is usually a cute top, maybe with a blazer, and a pair of skinny, or wide, leg jeans Can’t leave the house without? The color of the day lipstick Transportation? SUV or Sedan Driving music? Always Sirus XM. The Spectrum, Dave Matthews Radio, Prime Country, The Blend, and The Bridge Place to eat? Shakou, Francesca’s, ZaZa’s, and Mago Shop? G&G Boutique, Luxe Warehouse, and Tattered Tiques Best thing about the country? The family-friendly community we live in Worst thing about the country? The freight trains that hold up traffic The perfect day is? Going to watch my children at their activities and then having a nice dinner with my family and friends. A perfect day is seeing my children having fun and enjoy doing what they love

WHEN IN TOWN

Your style is? A cute dress with a heel or cute sandal. Mostly it depends on the occasion Can’t leave the house without? A cute clutch or crossbody to match Transportation? Walking or Uber Driving music? Driving downtown I usually like to play fun music that puts me in a happy mood. Sirius XM with favorites being 90s on 9, Lithium, and listening to 90s hip hop is always fun too Place to eat? Sweet Mandy B’s. I always stop in for a treat when I am in the city or pick up cake and cookies for family parties Shop? I love finding small locally owned boutiques to explore. One of my favorites is Krista K located in Lakeview. Michigan Avenue and Oak Street are always fun places to shop Best thing about town? So many choices of restaurants and activities to do Worst thing about town? The traffic, 100 percent The perfect day is? Walking around exploring Chicago, going to a nice dinner, and then attending an outdoor concert
