Country vs. Town

Tracey Tarantino DiBuono PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBIN SUBAR / STYLING BY THERESA DEMARIA / HAIR AND MAKEUP BY SARAH SALTANOVITZ FOR DISTINCT ARTISTS

Tracey Tarantino DiBuono was born and raised in the Western Suburbs, eventually making Oak Brook her home 20 years ago with her husband, Joey, and twin daughters, Disa and Darci. DiBuono, who started her career in professional dance, is the proud grandmother to Sophia (4), Francesca (2), AND Siena (1). “My passions begin with my large Italian family. Time together with them is always a blessing,” says the matriarch. When she isn’t dressing her granddaughters in adorable matching outfits, DiBuono stays busy creating one-of-a-kind fashion and entertainment events with her company, Zzazz Productions, including The Service Club of Chicago’s Annual Fashion Show. “Large events may be pausing, but I am excited to embark on a new presentation of virtual fashion for my clients, which will allow their organizations to continue to fundraise despite social distancing,” shares DiBuono. Here are a few of the stylish philanthropist’s favorites around country and town:

Mantra? Surrender is a journey from outer turmoil to inner peace. Let go let God. Best grooming tip? Wash your hair and let it air dry when you don’t need it styled. Always keep your nails manicured. Guilty pleasure? Dark chocolate. Favorite foods? Salmon and pizza. Music you love? Anything I can dance to. Best advice ever given to you? Stay on a spiritual journey. Best advice you’ve given? It costs you nothing to be nice. Earliest memory? Being carried home on my father’s shoulder in the brisk winter air. When you wake up, you? Practice morning meditation. Before bed, you? Try to stop looking at my phone! Use a face serum. Journal. What’s on your bookshelf? Nine Women One Dress by Jane L Rosen. You can’t live without? Talking to my daughters. Love to escape to? Naples, Florida. Advice you would give to your younger self? Start an investment group.

WHEN IN THE COUNTRY

Your style is? Athletic. Can’t leave the house without? Putting lipstick on. Driving music? Sirus XM Pop. Place to eat? Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. Shop? RedE Mas. Best thing about country? Great yoga, dining, spacious living, garden centers, and it’s a great space to have a dog, too. Worst thing about country? Having two appointments in the city in one day and needing to make two trips to the city. The perfect day is? Seeing family, completing tasks at work and in the house, then ending the evening with my husband talking about our happy little ones.

WHEN IN TOWN

Your style is? Very tailored—classic with a twist on trends. Can’t leave the house without? My purse, phone, and lipgloss. Place to eat? Tufano’s Vernon Park Tap. Shop? Neiman Marcus and a few designers I can only find in Chicago. Best thing about town? There is always a picturesque moment between the beautiful architecture, interiors, and events that you don’t want to miss. Worst thing about town? The drive and parking. The perfect day is? Doing something unexpected that brought me new knowledge.
