Compassionate Law

The first thing you notice when you walk through the doors of Botti Law Firm’s Oak Brook office is warmth—a warmth that might seem misplaced at a law firm that focuses on family law, personal injury, business litigation, and criminal defense.
As you make your way into Aldo E. Botti’s office you’re sure to notice an abundance of legal pads—bright yellow legal pads sitting on top of tall stacks of paper that each tell the story of a complex case.
“I know where everything is,” Botti jokes. “I promise, I do.”
The mix of family and business is apparent in the nationally recognized firm’s grand conference room, as Botti’s grandchildren enjoy pizza and his son, John Botti, finds himself on a conference call with a client in another. Botti, the boy from Brooklyn who served in the Army and raised his family in Hinsdale is currently one of the country’s most respected lawyers.
“We are all very professional, but there is also a warmth in here that I know our clients appreciate,” says Botti. “We are all here because we have a desire to help people.”
Indeed, through the years, Botti has established himself as an expert in both federal and state law, concentrating on high profile cases involving complex legal matters that include family law, commercial and business disputes, personal injury, and criminal law in and outside of the state of Illinois.
And while Botti’s resume is filled to the brim with professional accolades, including being named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Illinois by the American Trial Lawyers Association, Botti’s eyes also hint at a man with the most tender of hearts.
“Every person who comes in this office is coming in with the biggest problem of their lives,” says Botti. “As lawyers, we have to recognize that and have the empathy to understand that, even if we have 50 other clients with similar problems.”
Botti, a former Assistant State’s Attorney for DuPage County, works alongside a skilled team of lawyers—John Botti and Michael Botti, both of whom also served as Assistant States Attorneys, as well as Jean M. Lasics-Wessels.
“Everyone gets into law for a different reason,” says Botti, who also served four years as the Chairman of DuPage County. “Of course, we have an interest in the law, but we also collectively have a desire to help people.”
Currently, a good portion of the cases that Botti Law Firm takes on are complex divorce cases with major financial components involved.
“We represent both men and women, but it’s the women that always seem to get to me,” reflects Botti. “They come in having given everything to their marriage and now they have children and they need some sort of financial support and they truly don’t know where to turn next. My heart goes out to them.”
But yes, that’s when Botti Law Firm gets to work.
“If you ask me, being a lawyer is the most intellectually gratifying profession there is,” reflects Botti, whose firm has long been active in the community working with organizations like Community House and The Illinois State Crime Commission. “The majesty of going to court and arguing on the behalf of our clients is, to me, the greatest thrill.”
