Artist and art dealer Christine Gebauer sees every bare wall as an opportunity. As the founder of Celestial Art Curation in Hinsdale, her goal is to help you find works of art to fill those walls without breaking the budget. A former corporate retail buyer, she is adept at spotting high quality pieces at affordable prices. What elements define your style? Where do you find inspiration?
I represent a stable of artists, including myself, with a variety of signature styles. I curate artwork that is meaningful, expressive, and dimensional by artists who are passionate about creating and have a unique voice.
In your opinion, what qualities make an outstanding art dealer?
It is important to me to welcome everyone into the world of art regardless of their knowledge of art or budget. Art is for everyone, which is why I intentionally carry artwork at a variety of price points.
How do you include the client in your creative process?
Many of my clients are interior designers who acquire artwork on behalf of their clients. I often create custom paintings inspired by a designer’s vision for a space. I have also created an entire series inspired by a local interior design firm and its signature aesthetic.
How do you use social media in your business? What are your handles?
As an art dealer, I strive to create beautiful and inspiring content to showcase the works of the artists I represent. Many clients follow along on social media to be the first to know when new artwork is available. As an artist, I use social media to share glimpses into my creative life and to foster connection with like-minded people.
