Christina Currie of Barrington created the award-winning Christina Currie Events in 2004 and has been bringing a touch of elegance to weddings and other milestone celebrations ever since. This busy mother of two often lends her expertise to community organizations and loves spending time with family and friends. Here are some of her favorites in country and in town.
Mantra? The devil is in the details!
Best grooming tip? My grandmother taught me to never leave the house without earrings and a cute purse.
Guilty pleasure? Wine with olives and cheese while listening to jazz music. If I could do that every Friday night, I’d be one happy girl!
Favorite foods? Guacamole addict, broccoli crazed, and any Italian food!
Music you love? If working out, top pop music. At the office, typically the John Mayer station on Pandora.
Best advice ever given to you? To say “yes” to every job opportunity that comes your way; you never know where it will lead.
Best advice you’ve given? Always be true to yourself. Be proactive. Don’t try to please everyone, make decisions that are the best for you and help you become more confident.
Earliest memory? Baking desserts with my grandmother and taking the CTA for our lunch dates
When you wake up, you …? 5:30 a.m., you’ll find me riding my Peloton Bike
Before bed, you …? Catch up on social media and pillow talk with my daughters
What’s on your bookshelf? A Touch of Stardust by Kate Alcott and The Power of the Other by Dr. Henry Cloud
You can’t live without? My husband and two teenage daughters. They inspire me every day to be a better person.
Love to escape to? For time away, beach with tropical cocktails. If at home, bubble bath with tea.
Advice you would give to your younger self? Don’t compare yourself to others. Indulge, have that piece of cheesecake, and enjoy life in your own skin.

Worst thing about country? The bugs!
The perfect day is …? Preparing for an outdoor dinner party, poolside with candles, sangria, and my husband’s playlist
