KRIS BERGER, lives by the adage, “You just never know where life will lead you.” With this spirit for life, she earned a fine arts degree studying interior design and photography. “I thought I would be a famous photographer or interior designer or have a cool store when I graduated from college,” she laughs. “I never dreamed of being in real estate, and then my jobs led me in a path that has brought me to where I am now.” That path included working in the interior design world, and then commercial real estate in the retail and land development division at Grubb and Ellis. After her son was born, she says, “I began remodeling and flipping houses in the late 1990’s to 2010—when flipping wasn’t really a known thing and HGTV didn’t exist—while selling residential real estate and doing interior and landscape design for friends and clients.” It all dovetailed perfectly into residential real estate. Now, as President of KB Group with COMPASS Real Estate, Berger brings that experience to the table in every transaction. She always goes that extra mile to find what her clients want and need, while bringing her easygoing nature and making the experience fun. “I truly admire my mom for always making me feel like I could do anything I set my mind to,” Berger adds. “She was a born competitor but never came off that way.” Now, Berger brings that competitive edge to her clients every day.
