A native of the Surrey area, south of London, Tina Dann- Fenwick is a Lake Forest resident who has built a successful interior design business with her Tina Dann-Fenwick Interiors. Fourteen years and many awards later, including a 2016 ASID Illinois Design Excellence Award, the former attorney holds a degree in Interior Design and is an Allied member of ASID.

Why do you love what you do? Every client is unique and is looking for their home to provide a nurturing environment that they will love coming home to. It gives me enormous satisfaction and fulfillment when I can make that happen for a client.

What sets you apart from your competition? Avoiding formulas and predictable design, I believe that every project brings differing goals and problems to solve. I provide both a very personal and professional service and don’t take on too many projects so that I can deliver that level of service to clients.

Past trend you’d like to see return? Mixing the old with the new with antiques and vintage pieces. The project featured on this page shows how successfully this can be done. Often an old chest can be given a new lease of life, repurposed maybe with a coat of glossy paint to feel fresh. The sense of history that comes with an heirloom or vintage find curated into a design scheme creates a sense of timelessness.

Best advice you’ve given? Quality is king.

Where do you draw inspiration from? As a native of England and one who has traveled widely, I take inspiration from other countries, cultures, their architectural styles, patterns, and designs.
