North Shore native Bonnie Tripton has been able to apply her intimate knowledge of the community and 19 years of experience in the real estate industry to facilitate over $170 million in sales. As a broker with @Properties Christie’s International Real Estate, she is uniquely qualified to speak from a financial and strategic viewpoint about real estate. Before finding her passion for selling homes on the North Shore, she was a financial analyst at a top investment bank and brokered the sale of retail investment properties at a commercial real estate firm. Tripton is ranked among the top ten agents selling in the New Trier district in 2023 with $29 million in sales.*
What do you think separates you from other real estate professionals in the business today?
I go above and beyond for my clients. Each client receives a unique approach, fostering a connection where they are cared for like family. As their partner, I alleviate concerns about home renovations, guiding them to envision transforming spaces effortlessly. My firsthand experience renovating my 1914 North Shore home and independently designing and building a second North Shore home for my family—without professional design assistance—enables me to assist clients in realizing their dream home, even if it doesn’t yet exist. I’m adept at aligning clients’ renovation aspirations with practicality, shaping homes to fit their dreams.
What are some of the latest trends in the North Shore’s luxury real estate market?
I’ve witnessed a remarkable surge in health-centric preferences, particularly the insistence on incorporating a gym on the property—whether integrated into the house or discreetly positioned in a garage. There’s also been a rise in the inclusion of health amenities, like infrared saunas and pools.
What are your top staging tips? Who do you go to when staging a listing?
I believe in tailoring the staging approach for each home. Some homes require simple adjustments like depersonalization and decluttering to help buyers picture themselves within the space. Even homes with neutral colors benefit from fresh paint or touch-ups, offering a newer and cleaner feel. Collaborating closely with multiple stagers, I convey my vision for each room.
