Bill Seyfarth is Managing Partner and Head of the VistaWealth Office at Vistamark Investments LLC, an independent wealth advisory firm headquartered in Hinsdale. With more than a decade of experience advising entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, and multigenerational families, Bill brings thoughtful guidance and a long-term perspective to every client relationship. A lifelong Hinsdale resident, he co-founded Vistamark in 2025 with a vision of providing personalized, independent advice rooted in trust. Inspired by his family’s legacy of homebuilding, Bill believes a strong financial plan should provide the same confidence, security, and peace of mind as a well-built home.
What’s the best part of what you do—and what surprises people about it?
Watching someone who has carried the weight of a complicated financial life finally set that weight down and refocus on what matters most to them and their family. What surprises people is how little of the job is picking investments. Most of it is understanding what a family is really trying to protect, then coordinating the investments, taxes, estate plan, and insurance so they work together as part of a holistic plan to achieve defined outcomes for my clients.
What moment or challenge shaped you more than any title or achievement?
Growing up in a family of homebuilders shaped my perspective on wealth from an early age. My grandfather built a homebuilding company that grew into one of the largest privately held firms in the country before its successful sale in 2005, with my parents and their siblings helping lead the business. While I admired what they built, what left the greatest impression was how they used their success to deepen their commitment to faith, family, and community. I learned that wealth is most meaningful when it strengthens relationships, supports the causes you care about, and prepares future generations to be thoughtful stewards. That belief has guided my career and continues to shape how I help clients align their financial decisions with the life they want to build.
What’s a piece of advice you actually follow—not just give?
Surround yourself with people smarter than yourself and learn from them.
