In 2015, a casual invitation turned into a pivotal moment in MOLLY CURLEY’s life. “My mother and Barbara Parker were sorority sisters in college, and when Barbara learned from my mother of my education and interest in jewelry, we met for lunch,” says Curley. “Barbara not only loved her craft but she loved and celebrated others who shared her passion. She recognized a similar passion in me. Two weeks later we founded Barbara Parker Fine Jewelry.” Now, as owner and principal designer at the company, Curley taps into her education, training, and experience to meticulously create rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, as well as custom pieces and engagement rings, all with bespoke service. A Lake Forest High School graduate, Curley went on to earn a BA in metalworking and jewelry design at University of Kansas, and then studied in Korea where she learned additional craftsmanship skills in design, manufacturing, and stone cutting at Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea. “I have built strong relationships with the most incredible artisans, diamond, stone, and pearl suppliers all over the globe,” says Curley. She says she’ll always be thankful for Parker’s influence and faith in her. “Barbara was talented, of course, and also one of the most indomitable and optimistic people I have ever met. She always said, ‘Jewelry is the bonus points in life,’ and I think that’s extremely true!” Of course, you’ll find Curley wearing a fabulous piece of jewelry every day as her fashion statement.
