MOLLY GRON has been in the art world for 20 years. The Illinois-based attorney was hired by Leslie Hindman nearly a decade ago and is now the National Managing Director of the Trusts, Estates, and Private Clients Group at Freeman’s|Hindman. She is also a member of the firm’s Executive Team and serves on the board of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. A native of the Western Suburbs and alumna of Benet Academy, Gron was thrilled to hit her first hole-in-one in Elmhurst several years ago.

Most rewarding part of what you do? Really, it’s helping families and advisors through the estate settlement process. In the auction world, we explain that we gather property for sale from the four D’s—death, debt, divorce, and downsizing. Those situations are oftentimes not the high point for families so anything that I can do to guide them through the process means a lot to me. I frequently speak to clients about estate planning for tangible personal property and firmly believe that thoughtful planning, not only for yourself and your immediate family, but for future generations, is critically important.

Definition of success? I am beyond privileged to work with the greatest team in our offices and salerooms all across the country. As a manager, it is a great feeling to be able to support and empower my talented colleagues and celebrate their success.

Best piece of advice for anyone starting out? To surround yourself with people you admire professionally. I consider myself to be very lucky to have had incredible mentors. Powerful woman you admire the most? My mom. She’s a tough cookie. She taught me the importance of going to bat for people.
