When Anthony Chiarito began his career in the insurance industry, he quickly became familiar with one of the most challenging elements of the job. “I had the opportunity to sell a life insurance policy to a friend of mine who is also a Chicago Police Officer. I was diligent in getting my friend to complete all the requirements in order to issue the life policy,” explains Chiarito, who has lived in the Oak Brook/Hinsdale community for 16 years, raising his three daughters here. “Unfortunately, my friend was killed a day after the policy requirements were met. It was certainly a tragedy. However, my friend’s son is better off due to the life insurance policy. Had I not done my job correctly, the tragedy would have still occurred but without the financial safety net of the life insurance policy.” He also learned why the company he’s been working for since 2008, American Family Insurance, is considered one of the best. “They looked for every opportunity to make sure there was coverage for my friend’s son.” After working in the insurance business for 14 years—earning designations as a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS)—Chiarito is now an independent owner of an American Family agency, specializing in the high-value insurance market. “We have the ability to offer home, auto, life, and business insurance solutions from American Family Insurance along with solutions from premier insurance carriers such as Chubb and AIG,” he says. “Combined, our team has more than 50 years of experience, which is exemplified by our ability to easily and accurately determine risks and provide tailored solutions to mitigate those risks.”
