As Director of Sales and a third-generation leader at King’s Landscape Design, Adam King is helping shape the future of a company that has been transforming outdoor spaces across the greater Chicago area since 1959. Through his leadership, King’s has continued to grow while remaining rooted in the values of craftsmanship, service, and long-term relationships that have defined the family business for generations. Beyond his work, King is deeply involved in the community, serving on the boards of the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce, the Hinsdale Central Foundation, and the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association. In 2026, he will be inducted into the Hinsdale Central High School Hall of Fame in recognition of his professional achievements and community leadership.

What’s a rule you live by that others might not expect?
Never sacrifice long-term trust for short-term gain. In a family business, your reputation becomes part of your legacy. We make decisions understanding that every client, employee, and community relationship should be stronger because we were involved.

What’s a piece of advice you actually follow—not just give?
That success means very little if you don’t recognize the people who helped you along the way. Some of the most rewarding moments in my life haven’t come from personal achievements, but from watching employees grow, seeing clients become lifelong friends, and helping create opportunities for others.
