The annual “Novel Affair” benefit raised more than $100,000 in support of Ragdale, one of the oldest artist residency programs and retreats in the country. Each year, Ragdale hosts over 150 artists across all disciplines, conducts various public education programs, stages performances, and provides space for artistic retreats. Guests gathered for the first night at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails as they listened to remarks from the 12 featured artists. A seated dinner took place on the second night at the idyllic Ragdale campus in Lake Forest. Guests and artists gathered in a tent under the lawn for cocktails and made their way to a seated dinner with a select artist— later gathering again under the tent for desserts ending the memorable and successful two-night event. ragdale.org
