SONJA ZECEVIC has been setting trends in Hinsdale for more than five years and recently opened her newest location of Lepa Boutique in Geneva, Illinois. With a background in business management, this trendsetter is managing her two locations, while also being a mother to her four children and a loving wife to her supportive husband.

What are you most proud of doing? Opening my dream boutique, Lepa. I had no clue where to start, let alone how to attain the brands I wanted. I knew social media would play a huge role in my success, but how was I going to start that? Most importantly, I feared losing the balance of being a mother and wife, while becoming an entrepreneur. With the incredible support of my husband and the drive instilled in me by my grandfather, I’m grateful and proud of my success.

Who is your role model and why? My dad taught me to believe in myself and that my word means everything. He also taught me to be patient in life and to understand life is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. He’s the hardest-working human I know, and I’m blessed to have learned so much from him.

What meaningful lesson did you learn in your first job? I started working when I was eight years old in our family business, which has given me the work ethic I have today. I learned that even on the days you don’t feel like showing up, you show up and never give up! Learning to make the best of every day is one of the greatest lessons one can live by.
