This Bulgarian beauty is the host with the most. Furnished with an extensive background in hospitality, RAINA SPASOV began her career as a bartender and worked her way up from executive assistant to operations manager and Director of Rooms, Sales, and Marketing, and is now at your service as the hotel’s Resort Manager at the Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort.

How should women support other women? Women can support women by complimenting and encouraging each other and by sharing experiences and challenges through our own personal and professional journeys. To know it’s okay to feel overwhelmed, tired, and not able to handle it all, helps us know that we are not alone. Only we know what it takes to be able to balance life and it takes tremendous effort, discipline, and dedication to run a successful career and a balanced happy household.

What is the most important characteristic of an effective leader? An effective leader should be passionate about their job and team, respectful of others, adaptive to change, and have a clear vision and outline of expectations for their team.

What meaningful lesson did you learn in your first job? To learn as much as possible in all areas of the job even though it may not be part of the job description. I learned all angles of my first job, and although I wasn’t getting paid for all the extra work I did, no one could take that knowledge away from me. Being exposed to various areas of a position, department, or a business as a whole, prepares you for a successful next step of your career.
