What has been the most significant barrier in your career and how have you persevered? Connors: Starting a family while playing a big role in growing a business presented many initial challenges which led to many opportunities for growth. With the support of my family, friends, and work team, I have been able to learn harmony, balance, and flexibility in navigating both worlds.

Ghalkhani: The most significant barrier in my career has been overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome. However, through perseverance, self-belief, and seeking support from mentors and allies, I have been able to push past these barriers and achieve success.

What does the idea of power mean to you? Ghalkhani: Power is not about control or dominance, but rather the ability to uplift and inspire others, creating positive change in the world.

What is the most important characteristic of an effective leader? Connors: A strong vision and also possessing the patience and grit to see that vision through.

How should women support other women? Ghalkhani: Women should support other women by fostering a culture of collaboration and lifting each other up. Through mentorship, networking, and advocating for one another, we can create a strong sisterhood that propels us all forward.

What meaningful lesson did you learn in your first job? Connors: There’s no job too small or beneath you. The best way to learn is by jumping in and helping any way you can, whether that’s helping fix a printer or paint a wall.
