What are you most proud of doing? Helping others achieve their goals. As an interior designer, clients instill trust in me to determine their unmet needs and provide meaningful design solutions that will bring their vision and goals to fruition. Additionally, as an American Society of Interior Design Peer Group Leader, I play an impactful role in communicating and sharing best practices, resources, and ideas to grow our businesses and meet our individual goals as professional interior designers.

What is the most important characteristic of an effective leader? A successful leader possesses exceptional communication skills, is an active listener, and inspires individuals to attain their fullest potential.

What meaningful lesson did you learn in your first job? How to collaborate and be a team player. Working with builders, architects, and contractors requires interior designers to have the ability to openly communicate and be willing to compromise when necessary. Due to the complexity and multiple moving parts of a project, a designer must be flexible throughout the design process.

How should women support other women? By recognizing and supporting their unique skills and strengths and showing mutual respect for other women as individuals and professionals. Instead of competing with one another, we should focus on lifting each other up and celebrating each other’s success.
