What are you most proud of doing? I am most proud of building a reputable wellness facility that is advancing the transformation of health care for patients. Opening my practice has been my biggest, yet most purposeful investment. My proudest moment was when a new patient told me she learned more in the hour we met than in the 23 years she had been seeking reputable, alternative care. That compliment meant the world.

What are the most important characteristics of an effective leader? An effective leader has patience and understanding, the willingness to go the extra mile, and the ability to see things from someone else’s perspective. I think it’s also important to stay humble and be happy. A smile can go a long way.

What meaningful lesson did you learn in your first job? The most meaningful lesson in my first job was to show up and work your way up. No one is granted anything, and I learned I would have to earn everything, and it would take time. You can’t be at the top tomorrow, but your hard work will get you there before you know it. The universe rewards the action step.
