DRIVABLE ART

A century of automotive excellence will be celebrated once again at the Lake Forest ‘Then & Now’ auto show, held Sunday, October 1, at the West Lake Forest Train Station.

More than 3,000 people came out for last October’s offering, which was even more special because it was the first since the pandemic.

The 2023 show is the fourth installation for the event, which is hosted by the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with local auto enthusiasts and a list of community sponsors that includes American Place Casino, Britt Carter & Company, Northern Trust, Glenview Luxury Imports, Northshore Sportscars, and The Porsche Exchange.

This free showcase of more than 100 cars is a “who’s who” of automobiles through the ages, from legendary collectors’ classics to modern luxury speedsters. An advisory committee of owners representing a wide range of cars from exotic and classic to preand postwar, vintage European, and Rolls Royce/Bentley will roll through for a display of “drivable art” like you’ve never seen in one place before.

Young attendees will also enjoy exploring state-of-the-art fire and police vehicles as well as peeking into a sprawling array of “hot wheels.”

The family-friendly event features entertainment by the popular Flat Cats band, an onsite raffle, and an expanded “Food Station” that offers food and beverages from favorite area businesses. This year’s lineup includes Clucker’s Charcoal Chicken, La Plancha Loca Taqueria, Lake Bluff Brewing Company, Bonique USA Waffles, Lincoln Land Kettle Corn, and more.

Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce’s “Then & Now” auto show will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at the West Lake Forest Train Station, 911 Telegraph Road, in Lake Forest. Admission is free. For more information, visit lflbchamber.com.
