Lake Forest Preservation Foundation
On May 22, supporters of the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation enjoyed a walking tour of the historic 1912 Rumsey Estate. Guests met the stunning estate’s new owners, Sandy and Roger Deromedi, and took in the interpreted Jens Jensen gardens, the Mayflower Ravine, and breathtaking koi pond. In spite of a brief shower, a private preview and reception kicked off the event and included an exclusive perspective on the story behind the estate gardens and ravine restorations, and was followed by a self-guided walking tour. To conclude the lovely afternoon, Ryan and Claire Kettelkamp, landscape architects, were on the terrace to present an overview of the proposed environmentally sensitive ravine restoration project.
