Supporters of Lake Forest High School Athletics gathered on August 25 for a benefit reception introducing the Diamond Anniversary Campaign, a special capital campaign to fund a new, multi-purpose sports complex at historic Lindenmeyer Field on the LFHS East Campus. Plans for the new complex include two new synthetic turf fields—marked for field hockey, football, lacrosse, and soccer—and a new state-of-the-art track & field facility, for use by LFHS teams, wellness classes, intramurals, youth sports programs, and community recreation. The project is an outgrowth of conversations between the LFHS Boosters and school administrators and seeks to address deficiencies in existing outdoor athletic facilities at the LFHS East Campus, with stated goals of maximizing programs and opportunities, minimizing injuries, and optimizing development and performance. Proceeds of the event went toward the $2.5 million campaign.
