Uncork the Cure
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The Greater Illinois Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held their 7th annual Uncork the Cure event on October 15 at The Lake Forest Club. The event raised more than $100,000 for vital cystic fibrosis (CF) research. The evening brought together wine enthusiasts the North Shore over. More than 200 guests enjoyed a wide variety of wines supplied by inaugural Grand Cru winner Moët Hennessy USA and food provided by The Lake Forest Club and Whole Foods Market Deerfield. The evening was emceed by Ron Bernardi of Sunset Foods and featured incredible live and silent auctions, a “Stock Your Cellar” wine raffle, and live music by Derrick “Suede” Stout and The Turnstyles. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects approximately 30,000 people in the United States. When the CF Foundation was created in 1955, few children lived to attend elementary school. Today, because of research and care supported by the CF Foundation, the median age of survival for a person with CF is 37 years. For more information, visit cff.org.
