Hosted by Lake Forest High School students Grace Demet, Nina Demet, and Emily Lovell, the Green Glamour Clothing Swap on August 27 brought together teens and tweens in search of fashion. More than 100 young girls rifled through piles of gently used clothing at Lovell’s of Lake Forest. The event’s goal was twofold: to bring about awareness to a green lifestyle and give attention to a good cause. More than 1,000 pieces of clothing were brought to the swap. Items that were not “recycled” by the day’s shoppers were brought to the Waukegan Battered and Abused Women’s & Children’s Foundation. More than 50 bags of clothing were donated.
