Max Schewitz Foundation
June 19, 2010
The Occasion: As if an evening of good friends, hot cars, and tasty food and drinks wasn’t enough, hundreds gathered at Lake Forest Sportscars to celebrate the life of Max Schewitz and to raise funds for the Max Schewitz Foundation.
The Details: The event honored Max’s mother, Mary Beth, with the Foundation’s recent recognition in PEOPLE and Real Simple magazines, as well as her acknowledgement by Major League Baseball as an “All-Star Among Us”.
The VIPs: Dr. Sandy Goldberg of NBC 5 served as emcee for the evening, and David Goodman of Auction Results paired donors with once-in-a-lifetime travel, entertainment, and leisure items, as well as led an anatomically correct game of Heads and Tails.
The End Result: The evening’s funds will go toward the Foundation’s two major causes of supporting the education, prevention, and research of sudden cardiac death in young people, and the promotion of environmental conservation of our fragile ecosystem.
