The 27th American Craft Exposition Preview Party
The Occasion: Before the much-beloved American Craft Exposition Show (ACE) opened to the general public for the weekend, art lovers gathered at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion in Evanston to see the latest in handmade art during the Preview Party, presented by The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals.
The Highlights: Guests perused museum-quality crafts—which ranged from ceramics to fashion, furniture to textiles—and featured an emerging artist gallery.
The Background: The proceeds from the event will support pioneering research at NorthShore, which already is proving promising results in preventing ovarian cancer in at-risk women.
The Final Tally: More than 1,100 supporters took in the 160 juried artists from across the country, raising $600,000. americancraftexpo.org.
