Guild of the Chicago Botanic Garden Annual Harvest Ball
The Occasion: For the 13th year in a row, the Guild of the Chicago Botanic Garden saw more than 500 guests through its triumphant early fall grounds, as supporters gathered for the Harvest Ball.
The VIPs: Guild members Kimberly Burt and Riley O’Neil of Chicago and Peyton Merrill of Winnetka served as the evening’s co-chairs, cheerfully greeting guests as they entered the cocktail reception and silent auction in McGinley Pavilion.
The Highlights: The black-tie evening featured more than 90 silent auction items and a remarkable live auction that boasted a five-night stay for two at the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis and a weekend stay and tickets to the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
The Final Tally: More than $450,000 was raised for the Learning Center, which provides educational programs for teachers and youth from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade and seeks to inspire a lifelong interest in science and respect for our environment. chicagobotanic.org.
