The Occasion: Beginning its second century of excellence in education, Loyola Academy in Wilmette hosted its annual auction and dinner event, transforming the school’s gym into a 1960s, retro-chic playground, encompassing the theme “The Beat Goes On.”

The VIPs: Tracie and Dan Michalek and Meg and Bill Phelan, both couples of Glenview, served as chairs for the evening.

The Final Tally: More than $1.1 million was raised for Loyola’s Tuition Assistance program, adding to their more than $4 million in aid provided to nearly 30 percent of its 2,000 students each year. goramblers.org
