June 18
The Occasion: The Max Schewitz Foundation blew the roof off of Lake Forest Sportscars, as a maximum crowd of 350 packed into the luxury automobile purveyor’s showroom for a night of food, auction, cocktails, and fund-raising.
The Background: Mary Beth and David Schewitz lost their son, Max, to sudden cardiac death disease several years ago and now provide free EKG testing—known as “Screens for Teens”—to young adults in Chicagoland schools.
The Highlights: Chef John des Rosiers from Inovasi in Lake Bluff designed the menu for the evening, Dr. Sandy Goldberg of NBC5 served as emcee for the evening, and David Goodman of Auction Results handled the live auction.
The End Result: More than $100,000 was raised for the Screens for Teens program, which to date, has administered more than 18,300 free EKG tests. maxandthewildthings.com
