The Occasion: More than 490 cyclists and 750 enthusiasts took over the quiet North Shore community during the Glencoe Grand Prix (GGP), a USA Cycling National Racing Calendar event and State Criterium Championship.

The VIPs: Eric Young of Bissell Pro Cycling won the day’s major race, and Jon Knouse served as Race Director of the GGP for the sixth year in a row.

The Highlights: The evening was capped off by a raucous block party that shut down the streets of Glencoe with dancing to rock renditions by Hairbangers Ball.

The End Result: More than $30,000 was raised for the Glencoe Education Foundation for use toward the purchase of SMART Boards for their classrooms. glencoegrandprix.com
